We all have one. Some people write up a formal list of things they want to do before they die, while others have a vague idea stored inside their heads. There are certainly no rules to it.
The bucket list: that list of things we all want to experience before we “kick the bucket.” And don’t most of those items require traveling to the far corners of the world? You can’t visit the Outback without going to Australia or climb Machu Picchu if you don’t go to Peru. Maybe you have no interest in the wonders of Paris (the Eiffel Tower, the Louvres, Versailles), but what about that breathtaking French countryside? Have you dreamed of a weekend in New York City to see a Broadway show and check out the art at the Met?
So few get to accomplish their dreams simply because of a lack of money or vacation time – or both. But not you! As a private flight attendant,) it’s your actual job to travel to the places most only wish they could. Every day when you put on your uniform and board the next private jet, you can smile to yourself thinking about the adventures waiting at the other end.
Since most of private flight attendants’ jobs are contractual, that means they get to choose which flights they work and where they go – and for how long. You have the opportunity to compete for jobs that will take you to a new, exciting place for a week or more sometimes. In other cases, it might be a day or two – just enough time to catch one major attraction until you can return. Those quick trips are also a great way to find out if a place about which you’ve dreamed your entire life lives up to the hype. Maybe after a day, you’ll figure out it isn’t a place you like, after all. Yet, you might discover you love a city or country you never thought you had an interest in.
The life of a private flight attendant is a journey in self-discovery. Through trips around the world, you’ll learn as much about yourself as you will all the different cultures you’ll visit. What speaks to you? What doesn’t? Did you always love fine art, or was it that trip to the Prado that pushed you to want to see all the world’s major art galleries and museums?
